Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery is a procedure which aims to remove excess skin and fat pockets treat the upper and lower eyelids to improve the appearance of tired eyes and make them look younger and fresh.
With the passing of time, exposure to ultraviolet rays, gravity and the marks generated by highly repetitive expressions make the skin of the eyelids lose elasticity.

After surgery the patient will feel heavy eyelids, during the first four days will be presented progressive swelling around the eyes, this can cause the patient to see blurry or double but this swelling will decrease gradually. It is not advisable to overdo activities requiring visual effort the first 2 days after surgery.
The first 2 days is appropriate to apply cold packs being careful not to burn the skin with cold. On the third day you can apply a warm wet cloth always based on the recommendations of the plastic surgeon.
In the first week will be removed the stitches and the patient can resume normal activities despite having some swelling and bruising to his eyelids. The right time to wear makeup again be provided by your doctor.
If the patient wears contact lenses need to use glasses the first 2 weeks and then you can reuse them. It is not advisable physical effort during the first 2 weeks or use the pool, as this promotes inflammation and the risk of infection.
During the first month, the scars may be red but with proper care and the elapse of time these will be returning to the normal color of the skin.
